On September 15, 2024, NSS volunteers from Sunrise College celebrated Onam in a heartwarming event with the visually impaired members of Asraya Swoyam Sahayana Sangam, Mathamangalam. This special celebration aimed to bring the joy and spirit of Onam to the members of Asraya, spreading cheer and compassion in the community.
The day was filled with traditional Onam festivities, including a beautifully arranged pookalam (floral carpet), music, and games, creating an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere. Volunteers prepared and served the traditional Onam Sadhya, allowing everyone to enjoy the authentic flavors of the season. The event was filled with laughter, conversations, and shared experiences that fostered a deep connection between the volunteers and the Asraya community.
